Have you ever seen people get belligerent just because they know you are a Christian, even if you have not yet said anything to them about sin? I have seen this several times. People that live for the world know they are sinning and they love it more than knowing the one who can redeem them. But they take it further because they will verbally attack you for no reason. I am not sure why they do this? Maybe it makes them feel better.

The Pharisees could not stand to be around Jesus I think for the very same reason. John MacArthur said in his commentary on verses John 15:22-24.

“They would have no sin. He did not mean that if He had not come, they would have been sinless. But, His coming incited the severest and most deadly sin, that of rejecting and rebelling against God and His truth. It was the decisive sin of rejection, the deliberate and fatal choice of darkness over light and death over life of which He spoke. He had done so many miracles and spoken innumerable words to prove He was Messiah and Son of God, but they were belligerent in their love of sin and rejection of the Savior.

I have also been around people who are living in sin and they are very nice people just rough around the edges and most of them will treat you well if you treat them well. I believe this is because they do not know the bible and therefore are not as convicted of sin. I said this to say that for those that know the bible and what it says are really trending in dangerous water. The bible says: How much severer punishment do you think he will deserve who has trampled underfoot the Son of God, and has regarded as unclean the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has insulted the Spirit of grace? For we know Him who said, "VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY." And again, "THE LORD WILL JUDGE HIS PEOPLE." It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God. ~ Hebrews 10:29-31

John MacArthur Commentary says: “This warning passage deals with the sin of apostasy, an intentional falling away, or defection. Apostates are those who move toward Christ, hear and understand His gospel, and are on the verge of saving belief, but then rebel and turn away. This warning against apostasy is one of the most serious warnings in all of Scripture.”

Well I know I will keep praying for them to repent and come to know the only one that can set them free and pay their sin debt. I am going to try instead of getting angry at them just take it that it is a plea for help.

Acts 3:11-26

While he was clinging to Peter and John, all the people ran together to them at the so-called portico of Solomon, full of amazement. But when Peter saw this, he replied to the people, "Men of Israel, why are you amazed at this, or why do you gaze at us, as if by our own power or piety we had made him walk?

"The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified His servant Jesus, the one whom you delivered and disowned in the presence of Pilate, when he had decided to release Him. "But you disowned the Holy and Righteous One and asked for a murderer to be granted to you, but put to death the Prince of life, the one whom God raised from the dead, a fact to which we are witnesses. "And on the basis of faith in His name, it is the name of Jesus which has strengthened this man whom you see and know; and the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect health in the presence of you all.

"And now, brethren, I know that you acted in ignorance, just as your rulers did also. "But the things which God announced beforehand by the mouth of all the prophets, that His Christ would suffer, He has thus fulfilled. "Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord; and that He may send Jesus, the Christ appointed for you, whom heaven must receive until the period of restoration of all things about which God spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets from ancient time. "Moses said, 'THE LORD GOD WILL RAISE UP FOR YOU A PROPHET LIKE ME FROM YOUR BRETHREN; TO HIM YOU SHALL GIVE HEED to everything He says to you. 'And it will be that every soul that does not heed that prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among the people.' "And likewise, all the prophets who have spoken, from Samuel and his successors onward, also announced these days. "It is you who are the sons of the prophets and of the covenant which God made with your fathers, saying to Abraham, 'AND IN YOUR SEED ALL THE FAMILIES OF THE EARTH SHALL BE BLESSED.' "For you first, God raised up His Servant and sent Him to bless you by turning every one of you from your wicked ways." ~ Acts 3:11-26

Seems Peter goes right out and gives those who wanted Jesus crucified the good news that they can repent and be saved. Don’t you just love the boldness of Peter!

You say “We see” but remain in sin?
John 9:1-41

Those of the Pharisees who were with Him heard these things and said to Him, "We are not blind too, are we?" Jesus said to them, "If you were blind, you would have no sin; but since you say, 'We see,' your sin remains. ~ John 9:40-41

While reading the bible today this verse stuck out in my mind. When I have been in some Christian chat rooms it seems that there are many there that seem to be really interested in the bible but yet do not seem to grasp the true meaning of it. I have been studying the bible for many years now and I have come to know if you do not study the bible for yourself you are in real danger of being deceived by those who try to make it say what they want it to say. The bible is about Jesus Christ from the begging to the end. It is not about us or how to have a better life now. If you truly study the bible and ask the Holy Spirit to help you understand then you will know the bible is about Jesus Christ and how we are to follow Him. It is not about how we can manipulate the bible to be about us. If you know and study the bible and don’t seem to have seen this go to a Christian chat room and just observe how many people who say they are saved Christians try to make the bible about them and what God can do for them. The thing is if you are saved you will want to study and know the bible and then you will see that it is all about Jesus and how we can please Him and worship Him thanking Him for redemption.

Another interesting fact about the blind man is he was the first-known person thrown out of the synagogue because he chose to follow Christ. Yes the religious people who make it about themselves didn’t want to see the real Christ.

I liked John MacArthur’s comments from The MacArthur Bible Commentary. Your sin remains. Jesus had particular reference to the sin of unbelief and rejection of Him as Messiah and Son of God. If they knew their lostness and darkness and cried out for spiritual light, they would no longer be guilty of the sin of unbelief in Christ. But satisfied that their darkness was light, and continuing in rejection of Christ, their sin remained.

These verses argue from the lesser to the greater. The analogy is simple: If your eye is bad, no light can come in, and you are left with darkness because of that malady. How much worse when the problem is not merely impaired physical vision, but corruption of one's spiritual nature, so that the darkness actually emanates from within and affects one's whole being. Jesus indicts superficial earthly religion that leaves one's heart dark.

The Jews were willfully ignorant because chapters 1-8 demonstrate that multiple witnesses testified to Jesus' identity, and Jesus Himself in words and actions persistently proved throughout His ministry on earth that He was the Son of God and Messiah. – John MacArthur

Just before verse 25 Jesus once again said who He was. Sometimes when speaking to people they just don’t seem to get it or they don’t want to get it. And even now the people that say that Jesus is not God don’t seem to or don’t want to get it, even when it states Jesus is God over and over in the Bible. It is very frustrating when this happens. Do any of you ever seem to have this happen to you? Just curious.
